DS19 – New Ideas Create New RP’s
One of the main reasons for RPing in an area like Deep Space 19 Prosperous Station is to create a more immersive environment where different types of RPing can succeed.
Earlier this week such an RP was put into action. First you take a group who comes to the station interested in RPing here, a few discussions about storylines, an away mission here and there, before you know it a whole new story arc is created. This friday we saw the culmination of that story arc and one of the blueprints which shows how RP can actually be done here and work.
Deep Space 19 Station Log: Edward Auxifur & Sophie Jonhnson
The team, consisting of both Commanders of DS19: Commander Phantom and Commodore Desade, along with Senior Science Officer Auxifur and other members of DS19, constantly searched the lands, eventually coming across a winged beast, thought to be the legendary Pegasus.
After meeting a number of others, and gradually learning of the worlds background, the virus was created on Vulcan by a team of Suraeens and that a particular disease had plagued the land: Deeja Duru (Vulcan for Healing Trance).
The disease was not fully understood, however it was discovered that it only effected Vulcans, and resulted in a change in the DNA structure. The team returned to DS19, studying and analyzing a sample of DNA taken from a Vulcan resident.
A few days passed, and it was beginning to make sense that the disease was more serious than was originally thought. Doctor Scorpio – a Vulcan Doctor holding secrets to the disease from the land of Tow-Kath had also been put into a state of coma, and had gone missing over the past few days.
It was decided that a team had to be assembled to focus purely on the Deeja Duru virus. Lead by Commander Edward Auxifur, the team was given a science vessel (USS Gamese) to constantly monitor the planet while in orbit.
More days passed, and the members of DS19 faced immediate shock as Doctor Scorpio appeared in DS19 along with another federation team who had retrieved her.
While away on Tow-Kath, Captain Auxifur was informed by a dragon-like being that the ‘Golden Waters’ were the cure for the Deeja Duru virus. He had already retrieved a sample, and after a while of panic and intensity, gave the Waters to the unconscious Dr. Scorpio, thus awakening her from her coma state.
Dr.Scorpio informed Auxifur that the Golden Waters were not the complete cure, and another type of Water, the ‘Azure Waters’ back on Tow-Kath only completed the cure for Vulcans.
It was then found that the disease had unknowingly spread across various quadrants, effecting thousands, even millions who have no idea that they have the disease.
The cure is still unknown – and both DS19 and the world of Tow-Kath must find it, and save millions.

Space Probes: Class and Usage, Part 2
During the past 3 missions, you have used a variety of probes designed for planetary missions. However, this next mission involves the study of a gaseous anomaly in the Beta Tauri star system. As has been the case in the past, the Captain gives you the option of choosing which probe or probes to use. Access Part 1 for a refresher.
You make a quick check of your spec charts, confirming your initial choices, and yes, you wisely choose to launch a Class 1 probe for the very nearest areas and a Class 2 probe for a longer range scan, giving you a good size sample, every bit the distance from the Earth to the Moon at the most distant point of its orbit.
After the data has been gathered and sent down to Science for analysis, the Captain orders a probe sent to the Beta Tauri star itself. You confidently select a Class 4, Stellar Encounter Probe, knowing it’s sensor package will provide the mission with a wealth of data for the ever inquiring minds down in the lab.
Not long after the survey of the Beta Tauri star system, the ship’s subspace communications equipment suffers some technical issues. Being the ever alert bridge officer you are, you quickly suggested to the Captain the launch of a type 6 probe, confident that the probes robust 9,270 channel/350 megawatt transceiver could handle things until Engineering repaired the ships own comm equipment. And, indeed it did, earning you the Captain’s “nice job” comment and Engineering’s nod of approval.
The next week or so, things seemed to settle into more of a routine, that is, until you reported to the bridge, expecting a rather uneventful shift.
No sooner had you started your regular Level 5 Diagnostic, the Captain requests you join him in his ready room. You quickly comply, and, to you great relief, you haven’t goofed up…oh no, far from that..the Captain outlines a highly classified operation, involving sending an agent far into enemy territory.
Your task is to pull the sensor equipment from a Class 8 probe, and fit it with life support system. A very important task indeed, one that you, busy yourself with, knowing full well that a life and a mission depend on your work.
A few days into this mission, however, things get rough. Your ship is attacked by 3 battle cruisers, badly outgunning your vessel. As the situation becomes critical, the Captain orders the launch of a type 9 probe, loaded with the ships logs, set on a homing course to the nearest starbase…..
